w126 300se has no power
I haven't been on here in a long time.
Car starts and idles fine. While driving, when flooring the gas pedal, the motor bogs down and will not accellerate.Tried another coil, ignitor module, fuel pump and fule pressure regulator(all working parts) without any luck. I also did an on/off ratio test with a 49% result.Im guessing that this result means the fuel injection system is in order as our S.A spec cars dont have any 02 sensors. Not 100% sure if my dad checked the fuel filter as yet although im quite sure he did. Going to do a fuel pressure test on the fuel distributor tomorrow and go from there. Is there something which I am missing? |

We kinda had a problem with our 88 300SEL a couple of years ago... turned out that the coil had went bad. It would run OK until you hit the gas, then it would bog down, stutter, and sometimes stall out. We tried a host of things, but turns out a new coil took care of it. We had actually used the one off of one of my old Chevys just to see if that was it and it was. We when went and bought one of the cheap ones at Autozone and its worked fine for 2 years now. Not sure that is what is wrong with yours, but may give it a try.
Good luck! |
