Center console carpet piece
Anyone know if this piece is a dealer-only item, and if not, where I can purchase one online?
Dealer wants $60 and I'm not about to pay that. TIA! ~Paul ____________________ '91 300E, 208k miles |
Try a salvage yard. Is yours missing, thrashed or just plain old dirty? The center console carpet was dirty when I got the 560. Soaked it down with simple green, scrubbed then threw it in the wash machine. Came out looking clean.

It's just plain 'ole dirty and especially stands out now that I re-dyed my leather and plastic trim with Leatherique dye. I found it at Escondido MB for $9 plus shipping :D
BTW, if you have a light colored interior like I do (cream/yellow [interior code 265]) and if it's starting to show it's age, (leather has cracks in dye, plastic trim pieces fading to different colors, etc) I highly recommend the re-dye process I am almost finished with. The results are amazing and WELL worthwhile. The interior looks essentially brand new. I'll post some pics when I'm done. Unfortunately I didn't take any before pics. ~Paul _________________ '91 300E, 208k miles |
Paul,
Since I have interior code 265 as well, and happened to be in Escondido the other day, I stopped by the dealer. They told me they didn't have any leather dye. Did you get the dye from the dealer in Escondido, or from an Indie? |
I had a piece of indoor/outdoor carpeting that matched my car (gray) and just cut a piece to fit.
