Wow what a piece of junk. $1,600 on a lightly used car for what seems to be a somewhat trivial issue. Incredible that these cars hold any retail value at all.

Your indy is on the expensive side, IMHO. You could've gotten the job done at my dealer for the same price, including a loaner car.

expensive
Yea with only 60k mi having all the ignition coils fail, the trans box,the intake manifold failure , and the vin number is within range of the balance shaft failure problem..........so I guess it qualifies as a piece of junk.
Hopefully when the balance shaft gear fails mercedes will honor it since I'm the original owner. I heard some dealers are coopperative if it has less than 100k and less than 10 yrs old they will fix the balance shaft problem for free if you are the original owner. I thought the repair work on the trans was expensive $687.00 for the box and 4 hours labor to replace it at $90 per hr so with tax and shop supplies we are at $1200.00.........I could have done it for $560.00 but I cant code the trans box which is a theft relevant part...............................
