There is a small white sticker on the front jamb of the driver's side front door

of my recently acquired '85 300TD. It says: "152,000KM" in one line and "95,000 Miles" below that. Now if this were a Ford, I would assume that such a tag meant that the odometer had been repaired or replaced at 95,000 miles and that that number should be added to the 311,500+ indicated on the odometer, but I suspect that this is not the case with this car, but rather, that the number has something to do with the mileage at which the leasing company transferred ownership to their leasee. The title states that the indicated odometer mileage is actual mileage. Is there any standard M-B practice here which I should know about?

These are stickers that indicate the mileage at which the next service is due. It's probably "way over due", as these things start getting into the aftermarket repair shops (not to generalize) they stop getting stuck on. There should be unused stickers in the maintenance book, if you still have it.

Ja, I have the repair book,

but it stopped being used even earlier, although there are a few later stamps in it from independent "Mercedes specialists" in Richmond, VA, and one from Tysinger in Hampton.

My '96 had a 3 x 2 cm white sticker on the drivers door jamb near the hinge, I peeled it off (cause it was catching dirt) and underneath it is a (more permanent plasticky) sticker of the exact same size indicating oil can to door hinge and 7500 (can't remember mi or km). I figured it's a one time maintenance, then to be covered by the plain white paper sticker, but now that I think about it that doesn't make sense. Hmmm...
