84 gauge cluster lights?

I'm having problems with my lights in my cluster, all other lights work, seat belt, glow plugs, temp gauge light, the two main ones in the cluster are the ones that dont work. So at night I cant see my main gauges, one side used to work but I took cluster out and put a new speedometer cable in, while I had it out I cleaned all contacts. Now both the main bulbs dont work, they are both new bulbs and I tested them before I put them in. Not sure what to do next.

Main problem is the dimmer switch. As a check, you do know there is a dimmer switch and you have it turned up all the way?
Assuming you know all this, the probalem may be the switch itself, there is a solder point on the back which often comes undone, could be soldered back or you can replace it, seperate part.

Dimmer works fine, when I turn it the other lights dim. What joint are you talking about? Thanks for the help.

Joint is on the back of the dimmer switch itself, but if the other lights controlled by the dimmer work, then "so much" for that theory. I would start by looking at the printed circuits on the cluster for a break.

Funny, on the way home lastnight the right side came on.

Now the left side came on.
