The lens can be bought from www.hova.com. So far my car has 72k miles on it.

Another question....for anyone. My strips are original and in turn really dull and bad. I could go for the obvious route and just buy new ones. How good is the finish and shine in replacement strips? Are they just polished? Because I am sending my outer grille off to get it rechromed and I thought about just sending the strips too to get a nice layer of shiny chrome on them. Any thoughts?

The strips are very thing and polishe dI believe. New ones look shiny and nice.

Matt:
Your car looks just as nice from the rear. Thanks for the pic! If you decide to debadge, I would remove the 560 badge, but not the star (just my opinion). Your exhaust looks real good, your entire car is gorgeous! And BTW the quality of the photo is super.
One more request: How about a pic of the 17in AMG Monoblock's when you get a chance...;) How do feel about the quality of the taillight lenses?

Ashman:
Are all of the C class strips the same size? Do they need to be trimmed to fit on a W126? Thanks for the painting instructions.

Oliverp:
I can't beleve you used plastic ties...hehe.... Hard to tell. It looks like a professional job in the pic.

I found a site that also carries the tailights:

Just click on "Mercedes" on the left.

I tried those guys but they wouldn't respond to any of my emails, I don't think they ship outside of Germany. www.hova.com were the only people I found who would ship to me in New Zealand. I will take a pic of my wheels tomorrow morning and post it up. I had some difficulty fitting the new lenses on the new housings into the hole, I ended up using the new lenses on the old housings. The lenses themselves are good quality however the same could not be said of the housings or the seals.

Here is a shot of the rims, you will see that these are only replica rims not the real AMG rims. For those looking at new lenses I decided that I would replace the rear lenses with either factory yellow/red/white or go with the clear/red lenses as the originals had faded quite a lot.

Mat
I like your wheels. They look very close to the originals.
Thanks for the pic

Thanks Philip, original AMG wheels here in New Zealand are quite expensive. I paid approximately the same for my replica's as you would pay for the originals.

Why would anyone who didn't have to have US headlights have them?

I guess the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.
