HELP! Something got wet on w124 m104 and car is running like crap!

So my dad just bought my 1995 E320 wagon off of me which was running great. The motor needed cleaned up so he decided to hose it off (not power wash but still hose!). Now it runs like crap like its running on four cylinders. I had him take the valve cover center piece off and check the plug wires and coil packs but he said it was dry as a bone under there. It is an HFM motor which I am not familiar with. I guess there's no distributor but it sure sounds like the problem you would have with water under a distributor cap on an older car. Any ideas and or pics/ diagrams would be helpful! Thank you in advance!!!

That's usually what it is (water in the plug holes), usually one of the back 2. The last one is a bugger to get out sometimes, I'd recheck hole #6.
Have to REMOVE the coils to see, if he just took a glance at it that didn't prove anything.

Tell your father it's not a Ford. There's actually things that matter under that hood!

Most motor tooday sadly can't be washed,to many sensors.

Try disconnecting the MAF. My e320 does not like to start after I wash the car (not the engine). I disconnected the MAF and it started until it dried out and then would not start unless the MAF was connected. Can't hurt to try.

Is the check engine light on? I would guess it is if the car is noticably missing. If so, codes are worth reading to see what might be giving the problem. Build a code reader, did one myself recently, real easy.
