190e 2.6L

I wanted to get opinion on pricing. My question is can a 1991-1993 basic model 190e 2.6L (exclude the sport & the 24V AMG models) sell for 4650 in todays market. I am talking low mileage & no issues pristine condition! Any input would be appreciated.

i think that would be top end....say with 80k miles on it.

I would say 'yes'...someone would pay that for a really nice 190E. Not many good, low mileage ones left it seems.

I actually would if it was the smoke silver/tan one like I used to have. I regret selling it ! I wouldn't even haggle the price....:) But I did sell it to get a 500E....but the 190E is a far better daily driver (IMO)

My son was very fortunate to buy a 190e 2.6 a couple of years ago for 2k. it had 70k on it.... it needed an o2 sensor and plugs

he could have turned it around for 5k at the time. Now it has 93k on it and he has had no problems. This came with extensive service records.

he has added euro headlights since

I tried to get him to sell it and get an e320..... but he had no interest at the time.

great cars if you don't have to put anyone in the back seat... his is smoke silver with a mushroom interior

I know different parts of the country have a definite bearing. Like on the '91 190e it's not in the kbb. It only goes back to 1992. In the nada under classic you can get a price. It shows 4,050 low retail, 5625 average retail, and 7050 high retail. I had put mine out there for 4750. I didn't get much attention, until a lady that drives a MB sports car saw it. She just had to have it, but I am not exactly for sure her intent? Then I noticed peachy start at 4650 on ebay.

i would only sell it if you can replace it with something nicer for the same dollar

I paid ~$3800 for my 190E 2.6 six years ago. It had 190K on it. It was lowered and heavily modified at the time. It came with a nice stack of records as well.

The 300D was about the same, 240k on the clock. So far has needed front springs, brake hoses, a transmission governor. So far 300$ in over my initial investment

I am not sure about buying low mileage older cars. Mainly due to rubber rot.

Without knowing the actual mileage and state of the operating parts, especially the suspension parts, headgasket on the M103 or the HVAC system, the value of a 90's 2.6L 190E is going to vary wildly.

I mention those three areas since those are the things that should have been serviced/refreshed by previous owner(s) at least once at this time. If not, then it's long overdue.

Hey Rebe didn't you offer it to me first? Where in the country are you anyway, what colors, etc.

It's now gone. I sold it tonight. I had an inkling it would go to a Benz person, and that is how it went. I will miss it, because it was a nice driver. I still think they are a kind of classic of sorts. Needless to say, there are still people, that have a inkling for them. It was a ice blue metallic with blue tex interior. I especially liked the interior color. It was a very well kept 190e. This puts me out of a Mercedes Benz. I guess, I will have to see where it will lead me next. Until then thanks for all the technical help and advise. U guys are great!
