High RPM's??

To all,

I have a 5-speed on my '85 190E and I was wondering about my shifting habits. I ususally shift at around 2500 - 3000 RPMs. Is this okay for the engine or is it too high? My uncle told me as long as the car has power in that gear, u don't need to shift. He use to own the car and occasionally drives it in 4th geat, going 60 MPH w/ 3000 RPM's.

any advice would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

Vu
