Exclamation 1993 300E 3.2 vibration at idle

After driving my 93 300E 3.2 ten miles or so when I stop at a traffic light I feel vibration coming from the engine. If I turn off the engine and restart the vibration goes away. It feels like if a spark plug is not working. I changed the spark plugs but it did not help.

I also checked all the vacuum hoses, but did not find any problems.

Any suggestions.

On many of my cars, when I felt a vibration coming from the engine, it was worn out motor mounts.

If you had a spark plug not firing correctly, you would have more than a vibration problem, but more of a strong shaking.

You may want to change the resistor boots under the 3 coils,
Common faulty part on 104s.

I had the same problem with my C280 (same M104 motor).

One (or more) of the cylinders is mifiring bad enough, so that it shuts down, preventing damage to the catalytic converter (unburned fuel in CC will ruin it).

I had the spark plugs (Copper, NOT Plat.), plug wires, and coil ends (X3 of them.. 2/cylinder) per Arthur's suggestion.

Car has run like a dream since then! Good luck!
