How to check the fuel pressure
Hi,
I don't have a fuel pressure testing guage and neither does the local garage, Is it possible to read the fuel pressure through the 16 pin diagnostic port. I can fault code read the system using a power scope. My local garage has various old testing equipment and they are sure they'll have something that works but they and me don't know what pins to connect to on the diagonstic port to find what the fuel pressure is at the injectors. The car is a 95 e200 W124, thanks for reading.

A tester I used came from Harbor Freight, cheap. Saw that my 92 300TE would crank, and pressure would drop quickly below 50, and engine cut off. Fuel pump noise continued. Because one pump was dead, and the other was trying, but not enough. Replaced bad pump and like 70 psi.

I've chaising and fixing problems with it over the last couple of weeks. I think the smaller pump may be causing the problem. I think the only way to know for sure would be to get hold of a guage. I had a similar problem on my 2003 VW, it took a few seconds to view the data on the diagnostice reader whilst it was playing up during a short drive down the road.
