I'm not sure what small white tube you are referring to, but there is a white tube that attaches with a black rubber elbow to the top of the intake manifold and it goes back down to the transmission on the left side. Look for a nipple on the intake manifold that doesn't have any connector on it. Alternatively, if you idle the engine and spray starting fluid around certain areas where an open manifold leak exists you will notice a momentary increase in RPM. Sorry the harness didn't help.

That is the correct Tube. Looks like I will be adding that to my parts list I am about to order, is it easy to connect at the transmission? Is it 1/4 tube or something mercedes specific?
For the record, 1. I broke the vent tube you mentioned at the start of the thread, 2. broke the aforementioned small white tube, 3. broke another black vent tube on the drivers side and 4. i had to destroy the rubber connector between ETA and MAF to remove the MAF.
Will be pulling the ETA tonight, bolts are off, but curious where the spring should detach, at the ETA or the other end? Does the sping stay attached to the ETA when it comes out?
& the arm connecting the throttle/ETA I can just pry off with a flathead screwdriver?
Sorry these may seem like obvious questions, but I do not want to break anything else on this job!
Thanks again,
Luke

The vacuum tube that goes to the left side of the transmission is for the shift modulator. If it is disconnected, I believe it will cause very hard shifts. The tube going to the right side is the upshift delay for emissions. It is not needed. In fact, it may even be desirable that it doesn't work, because it is a nuisance to keep the car in low gear until it heats up to a minimum operating temperature.

Here is a good link on ETA's. Yet another ASR Problem; '94 S500
I have never removed mine, but if/when I do, I will definitely use the diagram and instructions as a reference.

Left = Driver's Side
Right = Passenger's Side
