260e 88 loosing power.
 

I have tis problem with my 260e 88.
I start the engine, then starts to move but at any time loose the power, I push the gas pedal but the car does not move, the rmp are about 1800 to 2000. Then I turn off the engine and turn on again and the car runs, and I've to do it many times.
I already replaced the fuel filter.

Could it possibly be a clogged cat? I've heard of them causing loss of power.

Try searching on posts started by ps2cho. He also has a 260E. If nothing comes up I would probably try sending him a message and see if he ever experienced that problem.

Can you give more details of exactly whats going on..

If the engine is still revving nicely and its automatic you may have a gearbox problem..Or is the engine not revving at all? What happens if you put it in Neutral a rev after you have encountered the problem?

I think the fuel tank is dirty, I replace the fuel filter and it was like o black soil on it right now I have it at mechanic shop. I'll find out
