Fuel Filter Change
 

How do you change the Fuel Filter on a '96 C280?

Please be as detailed and verbose as possible, ie, where to locate it, etc. Also, how often should they be replaced?

under the car near rear axle above a plastic shield. next to fuel pump

important to remove fuel filler cap and disconnect the battery negative terminal.

vise grips not good enough, special hose clamps only, I think that is crucial

It is recommended to be replaced every 60k miles, but is not required. Mine was changed at 80k miles.... it was getting pretty bad.
