1987 300e no fuel when cranking

Hey guys,
This 300e is not getting gas from the fuel distributor when
Cranking.when and assistant cranks the vehicle it will run
If you push down on air metering plate like more than half way
When you release the plate engine stalls.changed two FDs (used)
Compression 175psi verified iac hoses not leaking, rubber boot under afm
Is good. When cranking the plate is moved by the cranking vacuum.
fuel distributor defective?
Suggestions appreciateed

Tune up parts: Distributor cap, rotor, wires, non-resistor spark plugs, O2 sensor, fuel filter. What condition are these in?

Hi all ignition components are serviceable,
The problem is no fuel flow to the injectors from fuel
Distributor under any crank/run condition. Unless you manually
depress afm plate then it has to be pushed down
Pretty far,and then fuel is supplied to injectors and will engine run
Until you release afm plate... stalls
Replace fuel distributor?

How old is the fuel? Can you give a bit more info? Has anybody made any adjustments to the fuel air ratio?

The fuel was replaced because it was discolored and smelled weak along
With filter,i tried two used FDs from the wrecking yard.so they are questionable.
and I've went thru the fuel and ignition system and the control system

is there a leak somewhere in the manifold.

If you can get the engine to fire up smooth and steady by pressing the reaction plate then Im believing the ignition parts are good. The idle/start control system is not working.

Hey guys it had the same symptoms with each FD no
fuel while cranking Only while pressing down on plate
It will run a 3000 rpms.it would have to be a massive air
Leak, are the 300e prone to intake manifold leaks.
I verified compression @around 175 on All cylinders
pulled the afm twice disassembled it the boot is fine.iac
Hoses were replaced.when cranking plates opens on its
own a small amount maybe 1/4 in

Its very unlikely that you would have installed 3 faulty fuel distributers.

I would say massive air leak, or maybe the iac hoses popped off?
