whats my bolt pattern??
Hey guys-
I was crusing around E-bay the other day and i came across some sweet deals on some rims. The question becomes, what size rims fit my car? I have a 1981 380 slc, with the 107.025 chassis. If anyone could please tell me what size rims i need i would greatly appriciate it. I terms of like 112mm stuff like that. thank you so much -Aaron |

Aloha Aaron...
The bolt pattern is 5mm x 112mm. It is common to most Mercedes Benz cars, including yours. Where you want to pay particular attention is to the "offset." In general, this refers to where the wheel will sit once it's bolted up. Too far into the car, and the wheel will be rubbing against front end components and the like. Too far away from the car, and the tires will be rubbing the inside of the fenders. So...choose carefully.
I believe that your car has a 20mm offset. You'll see it sometimes written as "ET 20." My car is that size. I've attached a picture so you can get an idea what a rim change might look like. Good luck,

Sorry...
Sorry the picture didn't make it. I'm trying again... If it doesn't come out, I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

Hey-
thanks for the reply, your car looks sweet. I'm having a hard time finding 20mm offset, whats the worst that could happen if i go with say, 35mm offset. Is it possible to run them and just not turn as sharp or whats the deal? Where did you get your rims? they're pretty cool. thanks -Aaron |

Aloha Aaron...
For the fronts, 35 mm means it will be a little over 1/2" closer to the engine. Look under the car and see if you can do that. Do the same at the rear. It may not even bolt up, but I'm not sure. If they bolt up, and you want to try, that's your decision. I'm not sure about what damage, if any, would result from that. I'm conservative, and I like an exact fit, as oppsed to a close fit. So if it were me, I'd spend my money on something that fit precisely. Just my 2 cents worth.
My rims are 18 x 8 MOMO Arrows, now a discontinued style. I bought them from a shop in California and had them shipped to me in Hawaii. Take your time looking, 'cause I'm sure you'll find just the right ones. Best of luck,
