Inside Job

ok. Just got the MIKbox. Of course, to install it, the instructions read, "remove the left panel in the trunk". I do not want to break any of those neat little plastic fasteners in the liner. So, how do I get the liner out w/out breaking everything.

Oh I can rip out w/the best of 'em, but I want to do this w/surgical precision. Any thoughts???? thx.

on the newer Benz that have the round fasteners - two piece round plastic with a center section that elongates into a screw. The trim tool remover is a handle with a flat -Y- shaped end. I get mine from EASTWOOD they have a web site www.eastwood.com. They come in both plastic and metal.

The tool just slips behind the entire fastener and as you push it deeper into the -Y- the fastener will pop out.

Don't rip at the felt trunk liner cause the liner can tear

I'm not familiar with the `02 E class

on my1998 C-class I do the following

remove trunk floor carpeting

pull out the press fit side wall carpeting from behind lights

left with fasteners to unhook

I'll check my `02 C-class this afternoon to see how thw sides come out
