Spark plug wire resistance
I've been reading old post about spark plug wire resistors and resistance with solid core copper wires.
My coil wire resistance is 1 ohm My plug wire resistance is 6 ohms plus some. Are these values acceptable for a 1972 w117 engine's. ignition system? Thanks in advance for all replys, Knarf |
Rule of thumb is maximum of 1000 ohms per foot.

Which is what Benz uses. Should read trace on all wires. They get the resistance from the resistors on the plug end. [ That way, they are all the same , regardless of length] |
As Arthur pointed out the resistance is at the plug connector & at the dist cap itself. YES 6K ohms is correct fot that engine.

Thanks for the responses.
Now on to the next level of troubleshooting rich idling/hard hot starts. |
