Question Suzuki Forenza Ignition Key

Today my 2005 Suzuki Forenza gave me a crazy problem.
After parking it on my garage, the ignition key won't come out of the ignition at the steering column. I tried many times carefully to don't get it broken inside the steering column. It only came out when I started moving sideways the transmission lever. I then insert it back and tried to remove it again and I had the same problem. I then removed the key doing isle I did the first time.
When moving the transmission lever sideways I can hear a noise in the steering column like a relay clicking and after couple those clicks the key came out.
Now I din't know if the problem is electrical or mechanical and ether how to get it solved. This key has a chip in it.
I left my car in the garage and I will be more than happy to hear about how to solve this problem.
Thanks everyone.

I doubt you are going to find much Suzuki related knowledge here on this forum/site. The issue sounds like a mechanical one to me, probably a cable or mechanism that releases the key when everything is "parked" that is worn out or out of adjustment.

it should have a cable or electrc type release (more chance on electric) on the barrel to let the key go when the lever is put in Park.

Those can bind and do other weird stuff. Usually it gets chewed up by the brass key

As these new cars uses computer for everything, I don't know from where start the troubleshooting. I know that my old MB 300SD uses cable but Suzuki I have no clue.
Since this car does not have a book like other cars it will be a good homework to work on.
Thanks for your post.

probably the solenoid or switch (since when you moved stick it worked)

if you look in owner's manual you should have an emergency release for key (something like press a screwdriver in hole under the column)

Hey Volker;
This idea about the "emergency release" was a good start to find the problem.
About the noise similar to a relay clicking that I mentioned on my post, this noise I can hear when placing my ear nearby the steering column. It sounds like the locker try to release the ignition key. I don't know if in all Suzuki the ignition key work in one position only but my car only accept the key in one position. Better explaining; like our home doors will let the key go in one position only, this car is the same.
Anyway your impute was very good.
Thanks

Finally I found something today but still have questions.
I found that after shifting from park to drive and moving back to park holding the transmission lever pushed 1/4" to the right side, key will come out from steering column as it is supposed. Now the problem is that I don't know where to find the location to adjust the transmission lever.
If you know please send me information where it is located and how to get there.
Thanks

The adjustment for the lever is done via the select cable to the front is usually on the transmission itself and one end is under the console.
