fuel distributor '86 560SEL

I had three different diagnoses done for an irregular idle. All three opinions agree the cause is a defective fuel distributor. Do I have have to buy this new or can it be rebuilt. Is there a rebuild kit available?

Almost all fuel distributors that are for sale ARE reman units!! A new one would be $2500.
Rebuilding isn't possible even for the best technician in the best shop because there aren't ANY parts available & you would need a $25,000. flow bench to set-up the fuel distributor.
There are a few "aftermarket rebuilders" but with a 30-40% return failure rate. IF you want to eliminate a running problem USE a Bosch unit.
