95 E320 time to do jobs

I am curious how much time it takes to redo a headgasket on an 3.2 6 and I would also like to know how much time is involved in replacing the heater core and is there any where i could get the info into doing these jobs if I must thanks for any information .

For the heater core, search for the evaporator replacement.
I recall book time is 20+ hours. It took me a couple of weekends to do the one in our 95 E320 wagon.

What do you expect from something that is buried deep beneath the dash and is never really meant to be serviced except maybe once every 20 years?

Head gasket, just guessing, is around 8-12 hours if you don't get the head rebuilt/skimmed.

Just did my 94 e320, 9 hrs, a lot of cleanup, tapped bolt holes and die on bolts, everthing came out good , gasket disintigrated, coolant was drpping near exhaust, and coolant getting into mounting bolt holes, ive got 200,060 miles on her

I've done the heater+evaporator....20hours sounds about right. But half of that time is spent doing the actual heater box itself. About 5hrs to get there and 5hrs putting it back together.

It IS however very straight forward with no special tools needed. Just take note on the order, and bag everything and its honestly looks 10x worse than it is -- it is just time consuming.

If it's any consolation, I found the W124 easier than the W126.
I know I spent more time on the 560SEL evapectomy.
