Transmission Model Designation ??
Being a newbie owner I have a question or two on proper tranny I.D.
A 1987 N.A. 300SDL is the subject and am attempting to correctly identify the transmission service manual. car model is 126.125 engine model is 603.961 - 3.0 lt. diesel transmission is 722.321 All according to the technical identification in the front of the car service manual and PDF datacard downloaded from EPC today, I quote the above info. What is the proper manual number for this tranny? I have the manual with the cover sheet attached but inside it does not align with the 126.125 car. Can someone direct me to the correct manual please? Thanks, jimm1009 |

It looks like that manual is for a 461/463 G Wagen, not a car. so even though they both use the 722.3 trans, I don' tknow if you can use that manual, more than likely the G Wagen has some additional stuff going on due to the transfer case. You've more or less answered your own question, I don't knw where you are getting the manuals from, so don't know what else to tell you, you need a 722.3 manual for passenger cars.
