transmission help !!!
Re-sealed the front pump and torque converter, started up and no reverse. All forward is good, no leaks.
I’m fairly confidant that the piston seals are installed correctly, however, the K1 clutch came out with the pump and I found 2 or 3 pieces of fiber or gasket material beneath in the area of the lock assembly of the B1 brake band. I removed the B1 band and removed the pieces and re-installed the B1 band and K1 clutch. The manual is not clear (to me) on the B1 install, “the lock must point to the pressure body B.” I installed the “male” part pointing towards the B1 pressure body. I assume the gasket, fiber material is from the K1 clutch? What are my options? Do I need to rebuild the K1 clutch, removing the transmission again or should I remove the valve body and thinking some of the material is blocking a port? 1985 190D Last edited by jet35a; 04-30-2013 at 04:57 PM.
