Anyone have a timing chain cover for 103? (pic)
 

After replacing my head gasket, I noticed I was still leaking oil on my driveway overnight -- not much, only 3 or 4 drops but nonetheless I wanted to fix it. It was coming from the front so I took off the timing chain cover and found a hole near the O-ring seal. No clue how it got there or how long it's been like that, and amazingly it wasn't leaking more than it was.

Sooo, I either need to repair this one (no idea how I would -- weld maybe?), or replace it with a used one if someone has one for sale.

Any thoughts or insight would be appreciated.

(I realize this belongs on swap shop board, but I need some quick assistance here -- sorry:mad: )

The most obvious thing is that the timing chain guide is missing. It is mounted where the hole is. I would go fishing for it. Next time, if you feel the crank sticking, let off.

Could you please elaborate on how this piece interacts with the timing chain? With timing cover installed, it would approximately be where the red dot is in this picture. The only purpose I can think of is to protect the bottom timing cam from damage.

You are correct. What is does is keep the timing chain from falling off of the gear when slack is in the chain. What you can't see in the pic is that the lower gear is a two row gear. IF the timing chain was loose, it could easily get off track.
