Between the double firewall in front of the windshield/behind the engine, it will be clearly marked "KLIMA" as well as other numbers such as the part number. The one that is nearly identical to it that will say either 6zyl or 8zyl and also an rpm , is the fuel pump relay.

i think only Gen2's have the Klima relay, their auto climate systems is a little different than the Gen1's. there's a temp control relay near the blower housing if that's what you're looking for

Some W126s and W123s got the Klima relay for 1985. I suppose it's possible your car doesn't have one. The Klima on the SDL is mounted in a bracket where that thinner device is on your car, to the left of the brake booster, by the ABS computer.

Should be more towards the middle of the car, if it has it. The relay in the first pic is the fuel pump relay, that one and the klima relay should be close to each other, again more towards the middle.

I'd say you are correct, geez i know I've worked on 380's before but I guess the climate control system must be pretty bulletproof on 380's, maybe they should have kept that system instead because I know I replaced Klima relays on 126's before! LOL. Maybe not on a 380/early model, yes I have also worked on the early 126 climate control, the black R2D2-looking weird controller, real nightmare system. I think they were gone by '85 though, that was on the first year or two, maybe what you have is different from both the early one and the later one with a Klima relay.
The thing that gets me though is that mainly the job of the Klima is to switch on the AC compressor, not the blower motor, what problem are you trying to repair?

In regards to the Klima, if you can see the fuel relay you would be seeing the Klima. I only saw a pic of the fuel relay laying on top of the fusebox, not installed, I assume it plugs in in the normal location, again more in the middle of the car between the firewalls. Other thought is if the AC compressor doesn't work maybe the klima is missing? Look down between the firewalls for a socket similar, again, to the one the fuel relay plugs in to.

One source I read says 1884 was first year for a Klima relay in a 126, pretty good read althogh he evidently doen't repair anything anymore (from just a brief reading though):

Sorry for the confusion, I think you actually can see yours in the second pic, it has a cover! Look at this:
W123 300D-T 1985 Klima relay has a cover!
