differential swap
Is there a differential with 3.69:1 gear ratio that will bolt into a 1980 450SL? If not, does anyone make or sell a 3.69:1 gearset that fits into the stock 450SL diff? Also, are there any "posi" (limited-slip) type units for this application?
Please email if you can help: ybrband@lvcm.com Check out my swap: www.geocities.com/benzswap (if page is down, check back within an hour). Thank you |

I believe tobias has a 190E witha 5.0 ford in it. I believe he used a ford rear end or a dana rear end in that car. The gear choices are obviously better with one of those, and I believe it wasn't too difficult to get it all together.
Definately check into that. nice swap. Did you ever consider a swap to a newer 500SL engine like Satish did with his 560SEC? www.mbcoupes.com for that swap. Probably way more expensive than the ford engine, but would still be all benz and probably look great. 322 hp too. Still you have done a great job, looks very good. Alon
