Manually Raise/Lower W124 Wagon SLS?

So, about twice a year I use my wagon like a pickup, by putting the seats down and loading it up. Might have overdone it last time, about a month ago. Picked up a bunch of flagstone for a patio... about 1430#. Now, before I get reamed out here, it raised up and drove home beautifully. And I've done this before.

Now it seems like it's remained a few inches high, empty. I noticed a control knob in front of the spare with directional arrows on it marked "heben and senken" (raise/lower). Is this how it's done? Anyone with experience doing this?

Thanks all.

Take a pic, I've not seen a knob by the spare and I own one and work on them.

Thats the manual winder for the sunroof I believe

The level is controlled by a lever from the sway bar controlling a valve on the rear axle maybe the adjustment slipped. There has never been a adjustment inside the car that I recall.

Stupid boy, actually I think it's the plastic hex that covers the sunroof winder, the knob must be the fuel flap release...

Yeah manual closure of the sunroof makes sense. Except that "heben" means "lift" and "senken" means reduce. Or lower maybe. OK guys what have I got? And while you're looking what is that cylinder in front of it?

That's the sunroof motor assembly, the whole thing.

The hydraulic fluid tubes go into a controller that is attached to a turnbuckle to a lever attached to the sway bar. Most likely the lever has moved from its proper position on the sway bar. Readjust this lever so the weight of the car is supported by the springs and not the self levelers. You should have about the same height from center of wheel hub o fender lip on both sides and from to back. Although height distance at back is usually more than front.

Do a search on "SLS" & "self leveling" for more info.

Thanks all. it seems to be slowly self correcting.
