This is just an update to the idle problems I was having. I have never had the problems that everyone else has, my idle was too low yet very smooth. I finally took an old IAC, gutted it and built a controller circuit using a PICAXE micro controller, some external circuits, and a little programing. Then put it all back in the original IAC box and used the original wiring. You can't tell anything has changed except an added relay at the left front of the engine bay.
I use PWM to the original IAV. Idle is now 600rpm in or out of gear, A/C on or off at above 60C engine temp. It does idle at 800 rpm if the oil temp is below 60C. It does idle at 700 rpm for 10 seconds after a warm or cool start-up. That is just to give the fuel system a little time to stabilize, cylinders to get cleaned out, etc.
If anyone is interested in doing the same I will be glad share my circuits, programming, Excel files, etc.
And I have NO oil pressure problems even with 10w40 oil.
If you are really interested,. send me an e-mail and I will send you the information. If you are just curious I will try to answer any questions you may have here.
