16 valve r-16 resistor.
Anyone removed the r-16 resistor on their 190 2.3-16? Any noticeable improvements? Will the 16 valve motor gain from this modification? I know there have been a lot of posts about this. I found the plug on my 16 valve. Please keep my advised, Joe

I did this to mine and received a very good improvement. The engine will now rev to the redline with more power in every gear.

R16 removal
Joe:
A number of us with 16Vs have removed the resistor. All of us have experienced better performance with no pinging noticed. We estimate about 15 HP increase give or take a few. Tom Elerding |

Thanks Tom.. I am going to give it a try. I already found the resistor plug and will unplug it and retape the harness. Thanks, Joe
