climate control problems

hi.... i need help please... on my 93 mercedes 190e 2.6 im getting heat from the side vents cold from the center vents, its wierd because the heater valve is close i check it several times what else can it be, any ideals and thanks for your help guys.

im thinking its probably outside air.
