Rear window on 82' 300TD Won't go up

So I just bought an 82 300 TD wagon and it's in great shape except that I immediately have discovered that the passenger side rear window went down but will not go up. It actually went down and up several times and then shortly thereafter a few times began to hesitate when going up. Now it's gone all the way to the bottom and won't go up at all. This is the case if I use either the door switch or the switch on the center console. I'm presuming this is an electrical problem and not necessarily a motor problem (when I tried to grab the window and pull it up manually it would not budge). I would presume it's just a switch but why would the problem persist with both the switch in the door and the switch on the console control by the driver?
Should I just try swapping switches around? I took the door panel off and the wires leading to the switch look fully intact and unmolested. Any ideas?

The driver side rear window does this intermittently on my wagon. I can usually get the window to go up when I open the door and use the switch on the door. If that doesn't work then I grab the bellows containing the wiring on the door jamb and move it around and hit the switch. That always has worked so far. The someday long term fix is to figure out which wire is cracked and take care of it.
