Idle/Acceleration/Dash 1992 300e

Hey guys. I just bought a 1992 300e with about 96,000 miles on it. It sometimes idles at around 500rpm and feels like it's about to stall out. I read a few threads down about the OVP, but the ABS light is not on. Could this be another sensor?

Another symptom of this car is that it will accelerate very slowly off the start, at 35, 45, and 65mph. When I hit these speeds the car will stop accelerating and I have to push harder to get it to respond again. When this first happened I thought I got bad gas, so I refueled but the problem persists.

Last but not least, the instrument gauges aren't backlit and neither is my console. Not too big a deal, but it would still be nice to see my speedometer at night. I checked the fuses. How do I get to the bulbs that light everything up?

Thanks in advance.

Offnote: If you have any Sprinter Van questions, please feel free to PM me.

the fuse for the instrument cluster is behind the instrument cluster, so the cluster must come out. as far as car stalling or rough idling I would start first with checking/cleaning things: spark plugs, distributors, spark plug wires, iacv, O2 sensor, OVP fuses/soldering, vacuum leaks. If any ignition components are worn or have compromised integrity or you are unsure of when the part was serviced or replaced, then do that. Check air filter and fuel filter as well. Hope this helps.
