C36 Brake Pads/parts

MY C36 HAS AN INCREDIBLY LOUD LOW SPEED FRONT BRAKE SQUEAL. FROM WHAT I CAN TELL, FROM OTHER THREADS, THE CURE SEEMS TO PAD REPLACEMENT WITH OEM M-B PADS, I LIVE IN AN AREA W/O A M-B DEALER AND WANTED TO KNOW WHERE THE BEST PLACE TO ORDER OEM PADS/PASTE/ROTORS/ETC.. WOULD BE????? I CAN CHANGE THE PARTS OR HAVE A LOCAL SHOP (THAT I TRUST) DO THE JOB, EITHER WAY I WANT TO GET THE OEM PARTS W/O GETTING ROBBED... THANKS

Simple... Call phil at the partsshop on this site..

OR check fastlane on this site...

You will get the parts you need if they can get them.

I had a similar problem with MB installed OE pads. Seems that the MB brand gue (forgot the name of it...but it's painted on the back of the pads) did not dampen the vibration...hence the brake noise. The dealer experimented with some aftermarket stuff and it did the job.

CLICK THAT BANNER just above us. I just checked and they have your pads and rotors in stock -- you won't find a more reasonable price/service anywhere else on the web.

Good luck!

The cause of 95% of brake squeaks is not the pads themselves, its the pad backing vibrating against the caliper pistons. You really need to use the correct shims and good anti-squeak compound. If the pads are installed correctly, they wont squeak.

I had three different types of aftermarket pads in my C36 and none of them squeaked. I have used Mintex, PBR and Porterfields.

As someone metioned, use BOTH the proper pad shim, and MB brake grease ONLY.

Also, get TEXTAR Yellow-box formula which is the European pad composition.

No squeals.
