Dave,
You do get hits for the part number 6012705101 or 601 270 51 01 with spaces Here's a link to a web page for you MERCEDES-BENZ AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION There is suggests that the transmission you have is a 720.110 W 4 A 018 - so that's old! This number is also confirmed by the numbers you gave above => 6012705101720 11002 019716 6012705101 (part number) 720 110 (transmission type) 02 (something I don't understand!!!) 019716 (serial number) |
Oh sorry - the point of this is to fix your leak of course - you need to get in touch with the people on the vintage forum who will probably be able to help you find a schematic / tell you what to do. I've never seen your transmission before so I doubt if I'll be of any use...

Hi stretch, thanks for that going to look after breakfast, sounds like I have a very old box, had a few problems with air leaks but that's sorted now and this leak but apart from that the running gear of this old hymer is mint, dave

Hi stretch, you said you never seen my box before so you would be of no use, I disagree your info is helping me, thank you dave.

This is not too "old" transmission - it is mounted on the Type 601 (TN/T1-series), model 209 D, equipped with OM617 engine.
It has a 270 mm torque convertor, vacuum modulator as on 722-series gearboxes, K1 clutch the same as on the 722.111-113/120/122, K2 clutch - as on the 722.120/122. :) |
