Back in the day, in 1996, mine cost me $38,000 off a Mercedes Benz dealer's lot near Disneyland.
But I still have it and ran it 140 mph going to Orange County last Saturday to a Mercedes car show. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3166/...3b54ae06_b.jpg http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3173/...558a872b_b.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...1/IMG_0281.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...1/IMG_0283.jpg http://i353.photobucket.com/albums/r...1/IMG_0207.jpg |

Fulcrum525 that is truly a breath taking W126 sedan, I can't tell if if is dark blue or black, but it's gorgeous.
It looks like it has the rare french euro headlights and a perfect set of euro headlight wipers. NO finer front light set up exists than that on a car like that. VERY VERY well done. Best one I ever saw on a W126 sedan. |

Its no surprise if you can't guess the color. Its one of the rarest Mercedes colors around and on a W126 its even rarer (It was only available for the last two years) Throw in the fact that its a 350SDL and we're talking Uber rare. Blackberry Metallic aka code 481 Bornite (с 01.01.1990 по 31.12.1996) The only thing I'm not sure about are the window tints (They all have a very slight green hue to them, I don't know if that's significant at all....) When I set out to do the conversion to euro lights I knew that I was going to do it properly from the get go. So I ordered wipers, corners, valences and all. (The only thing that I don't have is the adjuster switch. I was supposed to do that this summer but other things going on in my life prevented me from getting it done................... The only thing that I want to get now are some Euro-tail lights to round out the mix. |
Just even FINDING the euro light and wiper impedimentia is very difficult and expensive in this country
How long did it take? To get all of it? Where did you find it? How much did it all cost: Valances, replugged or repainted new,/repainted, lights, wipers wiper arms, motors etc all of it? I am familiar with the color, it is called blackberry or bornite. Very very rare, correct. Unfortunately it is the cursed Rod bender 350 Diesel engine. Design flaw in it. Many blowup some don't. Hope you are lucky. Your last year W126 is a gem, very beautiful. |
I got a dead SEC.... Does that count?

I now have two MB's; a 300D Turbo, and now my W126, a 1986 Ivory w/mocha 420SEL; I'm stoked. Can't post photo's until the restoration is complete - I paid $1,000 which sort of indicates what stage of the project I am at!
My wife thinks the (mostly) restored W123 is being sold now... don't tell her, but I ain't giving up that dd. At 14 mpg the W126 wasn't part of reducing my carbon footprint! :-) Simon |
