1986 560SEL passenger knee bolster removal

I've owned three W126 cars, (84 300SD, 85 300SD, and now 86 560SEL) but for the life of me, can't figure out how to get the passenger side knee bolster / panel down. I'm trying to get access to the vacuum valve cluster. I've removed all the screws. Even the service guy at the dealership was stumped (he's worked on MB for over 25 years he says) and like me expected the panel to just come loose once all the screws are out. But it's just stuck there. Won't move. I'm missing something. Tried to remove the passenger kick panel under the dash but can't figure out how to get that off either. Figured maybe something is hiding under there. On my other W126's the little carpeted passenger kick panel would come off by pulling on it, but this one won't budge either. Don't want to break it.

Anyway, kinda rambling. Any ideas?

finally got the passenger kick panel off... unfortunately broke one of the metal clips. sure enough, one more screw holding the knee bolster up was hidden behind the kick panel as I suspected.
