Can I put a 91 M119 in a 88 124 that had a m103?????

I found a 91 m119 eng and was wondering what it would take to put it in a 300E? My major concern is the electrical part of it. The m119 looks like it has the same type of injector system as my m103 individual lines from a distributor going to injectors, no fuel rail, no electric going to injectors.
My 300E is an 88. We have a highly skilled team of commercial aircraft technicians. we love doing stuff like this just for fun. We have a fully equipped shop with lifts and stuff, but if the computer part of it will not work without very excessive costs then I am not willing to do it because the car is only Worth about $2k.
we just want a fun project!!!
will the 1988 722 trans bolt up,along with the downshift cable?
what computers should I rob out of the donor car?
will we need a different wire harness?
what year did Benz start putting the V8 in a 124?
Thanx in advance for any sugestions John;)

The W124 chassis with M119 engines had a different suspension.....

With all the work you will have to do......I think you are better off selling what you have and buying a 400E or E420.....

...and L6 transmissions will not bolt up to V8 engines and without modification generally would not handle the torque even if they would. Mark

They started putting the M119 in the 92 W124 model year (400E).
The front end suspension is beefier as are the front brakes (compared to the 6 cyl version)

Heat shielding, coolant system and motor mount cooling ducts were enhanced to account to the extra heat and reduced space in the engine compartment. (lot's of little details that require attention)

The M119 in the 400E did not use the fuel distribution system your donor motor has. Rather, it was equipped with an LH system, fuel rail and electronically controlled injectors.

I know the 500E was born about the same time (M119 in the W124 chassis) That was a totally different suspension and brake config created in conjunction with Porsche

Looking in EPC net it appears to be to costly of a project ,not impossible but way to costly...............................
Nothing like back in the old days when I dropped a 327 small block in a 74 vega:cool:
