HELP!!!! W210

Hi I have a 1997 W210 E420 and I'm trying to get to the brake light switch under the dash. I've read 3 different forums and understand how to do it. Having said that I have an issue. I can release all but one of the clips. It seems to be stuck. I've applied alot of pressure to get it lose. Nothing. Its the clip directly under ignition where you put the key in. HELP!!! Thoughts?

Why don't you snag a picture of it and post it. One of us may have gotten it out before but can't remember till we see it:)

I have recently changed this on the same model and year of car....brake light switch is located under the drivers side dash at the brake pedal...does not have anything to do with the ignition switch. So, I don't know what you are trying to disconnect but do not do it. The switch is located under the panels of the steering wheel at the brake pedal...simple to remove and reinstall once the panels are removed. Check the "w210 technical articles" at the top of the forum page.

FYI- Besides the obvious screws you must remove the 'heater vent' on the trans tunnel to free the panel. Once off the brake switch is an easy install. There was a design change so the new one might look at little different.
