Sweet! Im pleased it worked out for you!

The cruise amp is not as easy. The cruise amp has many more solder points. The problem with the amp is two fold. 1) Capacitors fail, and 2) cold solder joints form and they are always easy to see. So my solution has been to just resolder the entire board.

I wrote a how-to a few months back:
HOW-TO: Cruise Control Amp Repair 14-pin

Your amplifier is an 003 545 86 32. I actually have one in stock too. But the how-to will give you the general idea of how to repair it. Your style is not pictured there however. If you attempt this yourself, just be sure to replace the capacitors with equal capacitance and equal OR greater voltage rated units. And be careful not to bridge points together that should not be bridged. This might cause the cruise to engage fully and hold the actuator among other things.

I might have a pic here, in any case, I'm sure you'll find some useful info:
Cruise Control Repair for Mercedes-Benz Vehicles

If you're handy with a soldering iron and got access to parts go for it! If you don't want to risk it or take it on, like I said, I've got one here.
