AC Vacuum Pod whining

92 400SE At least 1 of my upper AC pods whines in an out with changes in vacuum. With AC on Auto and high, she whines all the time. However if I take it out of auto,it'll whine if I left off the accelerator or if I hit the brake...If I disconnect the green vacuum from right side of engine compartment vacuum pods, it stops.....Is there a quick access to these 2 upper dash pods inside the car...Or might the problem be something else

When you let off the accelerator, the vacuum increases, sounds like a simple leak at the pod. More Vacuum = Vibrating leak. like a Kazoo. In the w126 you can get to pull the floor kick panel on the passenger side and access one or two there, if I remember correctly, the side carpet panel will give you access to one of the central pods. There are 1 or two that are miserable to try and get at. The w140 will probably be harder. Head to the w140 service disc and check pod replacement in the ac section to get the factory step by step.
