5 Speed Shift Knob Needed, 300E
 

Finally got my 5 speed Euro 300E back from the shop, and it's running great. The problem know is that the rubber shift knob is about to split apart across the top.

Are these available anywhere? Will one for a automatic transmission fit? If it will, any tricks to replacing it?

I'm afraid I'm going to be driving down the road one day soon, and end up with half a shift knob in my hand.

One from a 190E will fit one from a 240D will fit also but gear pattern is different. What year is your 300E

Just call Roy, he can find it, price it, ship it, in very little time. Those types of parts are rare, another thing you can do is ebay it for a generic replacement. Shift knobs are prolific, you can get one on the shape of anything you want.

Actually, a giant metal ball bearing would feel really good. Maybe it would be hard on the shifter linkage bushing, but hey, just get the replacement wrench and change them out every now and then :)
