orafice in vacuum line to warm up regulator

On my 82 380sl the warm up regulator receives vacuum lines to both sides of the base. On one side there is a green and white in line device called the orafice. What is its function and how can you tell if it is working properly. On mine there appears to be free passage of vacuum. Is this correct operation? There does not seem to be any effect on operation if orafice is removed. Is this device supposed to restrict vacuum to effect operation of the warm up regulator?

Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks
JRJ

Need to know

JRJ, I also inqiured about the green and white (check valve?) months ago and haven't recieived a reply. On my 85 380 se there is also a black and blue one on a vacuum line nearby the g/w one. I asked a MB indy and he said there are so many different ways to hook them up it doesn'y really matter. I didn't believe that response, and needless to say he did not work on my car. Please let me know if you get a good answer, Thanks, Rainman
