I can't tell exactly what you're talking about from the picture and description, but your vacuum system does the following:
Provides power assist for the brakes Tells the transmission when to shift Makes the central locking system work Cruise Control Climate controls That's all I can think of...If there's something more you need to know, please post a more specific question and photo. Hope that helps, Mike |
i don`t think mine got cruse control.........and then on the same side.....ther is one plastic cap and if i open it ,ther is 6 holes......what is that for?

That is what I think MB calls the "diagnostic socket" or "plug". Something like that. On a diesel car like mine, there is a tachometer amp plugged into it to make the tach work. On a gas engine, an RPM counter device can be plugged into it at the dealer/shop/garage for various diagnostic purposes.
