I own an '86 260E and I am about to put an alarm system/remote starter/keyless entry in it. I need to know the locations of the following wires and anything else that I need to know before hooking it up.
-starter kill output -horn output -dome light output -2nd channel output??? -Positive door trigger input -Negative Door Trigger input -Ignition key input 3rd channel output??? -Polarity??? -Unlock -Unlock common??? -Lock -Lock Common??? Also, if someone could please explain the ones with the question marks. Thanks, Matt

First, search the archives. This has been discussed several times.
Sounds like a good time to buy a shop manual. This will be a long installation if you have to trade emails to find specific wires. Crutchfield sells an item called a DLSV. It's a wiring harness adapter that has sockets for two common relays and taps into the MB door lock vacuum pump. I think the part number is 514DLSV but the system doesn't recognize it. Try calling them. This <$5 item will save you a lot of time. Folks who've wired W124s for keyless entry say that some systems don't provide a signal for long enough for the vacuum pump to react. If you system has an adjustable door lock/unlock signal, set it for the longer time period. Sixto 91 300SE 86 300SDL (due soon) 81 300SD (for sale cheap) |

It has the 3-second lock pulse feature for MB. I am a little short on money. Is it really worth it to buy a shop manual? I would probably rather someone just tell me where the wires are.

What I know is that the door lock vacuum pump is under the rear seat. There is a wire from each front door and the trunk locks. I believe the driver side lock uses the blue wire, the passenger side lock uses the green wire and the trunk lock uses the black wire. The wire gets a 12V signal to unlock and ground signal to lock.
That's as much as I know. I think you might rephrase your query. You're asking where to connect those terminals on your alarm box, right? That is not a list of wires in the car. The 2nd and 3rd channel outputs are for something extra you want the key fob to do. It can pop the trunk or roll up the windows or start the car, etc. You decide. Whatever it is, it'll probably require a few more relays. For the locks, MB uses a unique 1 wire per lock system. Get the item from Crutchfield or find someone who knows electronics to help you. If you can't get the manual, make friends with someone who has the manual. Oh, if you car has a factory alarm, it might have to be disabled. What I would do is check the manufacturer of the alaem tos ee if they have the appropriate wiring diagram for you for your car for their alarm..

Hey guys I found this webpage and I thought it might come in handy for anyone connecting a key-less entry system. It basically explains how to connect the relays with the vacume pump.

The Crutchfield DLSV bundles the wires as described in that web page with 2 relay sockets so it's more of a plug and play deal.
