squeeky brakes
I just had some new oem brake pads installed on the back of my 97 c 280 and now there is this awful squeeling sound! We took the brakes of and they were installed correctly. can anyone offer any help or suggestions as to what it may be and how to eliminate it?

Did the mech who put on the brakes apply some ant squel compound to the shim? If not, try that and make sure the shim is on right.
Also are you using a resurfaced rotor or new rotor? From what I hear, MB rotors SHOULD not be resurfaced.

thanks Rocky
He did not apply any squeal compond when they were installed. as for the rotors, they are the same ones which came on the car. there is 60k on the car now, should the rotors be changed at this point? how long are rotors good for? sorry for all the questions, i'm not mechanically inclined. i will get the anti-squeal compond applied first and hopefully that will help. thanks for the help!
