Timing Chain Labor cost

What is an average price to replace a timing chain in a 1989 MB 300Sel?

I expect the techs will tell you that they've replaced very few M103 chains and only because they've already snapped.

Sixto
91 300SE
86 300SDL (due soon)
81 300SD (for sale for less than a good M103 valve job)

Probably in the area of $400-$600 if I had to guess. The 3 liter has a very short chain that does not make multiple turns - it is a very long lived chain.
