No dash lights & console lights when headlights turned on.

Hello, hoping to get some help with the electrical issue I am having. I have a 1983 MB 380 sec, that when the headlights are turned on the dash & console lights do not come on. I have replaced all dash light bulbs, dimmer & mileage trip switch, all fuses good. Also tail & turn signals lights are working, could it be a relay? The dome light comes on when you open the doors.

Any help would greatly appreciated.

Did you also check the fuse behind the instrument cluster?

I would get a factory wiring diagram, then check/test various points with a multimeter.

And I would start by seeing if I am getting power to the switch.
