Interior squeeking 91 300 sel
Someone PLEASE help me to get rid of the insideous squeeking noise in my 91 300 sel. It seems to be coming from the door pockets, and where the windsheild post meets the dash. I love this car, but I can't take much more........

Put vinyl treatment like Armor-all or Son of a Gun along the vertical strip on the door sill plate and the bottom edge of the door panel. That will get rid of most of the squeaks. You can pull the A-pillar covers after you remove the strip on the door opening. Make sure the felt strips are in place and add to them if you think it'll help.

I've heard of people putting cross-country ski wax in the areas Sixto mentioned, haven't done it myself. The products he mentioned do the trick for a while and of course, the squeaks are worse when it's cold. Annoying...

The Leatherique stuff lasts longer than either Armor-all or Son of a Gun.

I haven't used Leatherique, just Lexol. When that runs out this summer, I'll give it a try. Seems to work ok, but not that impressed.
I know a guy who brought back the leather interior on his 30's vintage Packard ($70k car) and swears by it, then again I've read the horror stories by David C. Klasse in this thread from a while back about the paint coming off: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/s...t=leather+lexol |
Paint coming off? Who uses Leatherique on paint?

:) The dye on the seats apparently came off on David's C-class when applying Lexol. I think the details are in the thread. He had some pics of it, pretty bad actually. Motivating me to go the Leatherique route.
