1995 E420 crank sensor replacement

Not sure if anyone has had to do this job ,it is a difficult one at best ,the stainless casing on the sensor would not come out had to remove the aluminum part that holds the sensor put it in the vise and scrap it out bit by bit ,I made the hole slightly larger for the next sucker that has to replace it so it will just pop out. This was the car I posted a few weeks ago that run perfect until it warmed up the would miss and die. The sensor made it run much better but would not take a lot of fuel would start to miss again. today I cleaned the caps and buttons and it works much better again .to get 100% I will replace them with new ones ,I am going to replace the plugs even though the are new they are platinum bosch and I have not had good luck with them , I will put in NGK BKR5ES unless some one know of a better combination ,thanks

did it miss when you gave it more throttle?

No platinum plugs in the M119 engine! Copper core only like Bosch F8DC4. Get the basic ignition parts right before you diagnose further. This engine also likes to eat caps, rotors, wires, and coils, which are all sources of missing and poor running. -from personal experience

the car came to me with new platinum plugs and I know from experience in the volvo world they do not like them either , I have ordered a new set of bosch copper core plugs in tomorrow but the car run very well today on highway, trying to burn out all the old gas that has been in it for the last 16 months , it is a very nice engine.

I got mine two years ago, and it ran really bad once it warmed up. I got new caps and rotors and plugs and it was 90% better even though the old caps and rotors didn't look that bad. When I changed the wire harness it ran 100%. These ignition systems can be tricky.
