power window

The day before yesterday,I let down the front passenger window on my 1980 wagon.When trying to put it back up it only went half way than just made a wirring noise with no movement.With an assist on the window I was able to get it up.Before I start taking things apart I would like some input.Thanks Michael.

There is a 99.5% chance you'll need a new lift mechanism.The motor should be fine.
